Tekton Legal Pricing Policy
Tekton Legal is a family law legal practice. We aim to provide our clients with clarity, certainty and predictability of their legal costs.
With these things in mind, we are pleased to present you with a clear and unambiguous outline of the basis of our legal services. We trust you will find this approach both refreshing and helpful.
Time based billing
Wherever we can, we will always try to charge our fees on the basis of a flat fee for each stage of your family law matter (see below for our Flat Fee Billing policy). However, the nature of law means that there will be situations where it is not possible to reliably estimate and predict the direction that a given legal matter may take.
You will know your own intentions and priorities when deciding how to proceed in relation to a legal issue. You will also know our intentions and priorities because we will make these things clear in a Costs Agreement. However, what neither of us can ever know with certainty, is the intentions and likely future conduct of third parties, and it is this factor that makes it sometimes impossible to accurately predict legal costs. You can control your own actions, but you cannot control those of others. Hence, the sometimes unpredictable nature of legal matters and their associated costs; particularly in contentious legal matters.
Our lawyers hourly fees are competitive within the Western Australian legal market. The hourly fees for every level of practitioner that may work on your legal matter will be set out clearly in a costs agreement. However, we reiterate, that we strive to provide a quotations of flat fees for discrete legal services wherever this can be done.
